Okay, so I have had a few questions from people via my Facebook page lately who are heading to Sydney for new years eve celebrations. There are two main questions that families have for the big event; 1. Where should we eat and how much will it cost? and 2. Where is the best place to watch the fireworks from? For this post I am going to share some family friendly Sydney dining options for NYE.
If you want to eat with views you can expect to pay a premium price. It would probably be a set menu arrangement and price range will be $400+ per person. If you are happy to pay that then you can book any number of excellent restaurants with sweeping views of the fireworks. The following would by my best advice for Italian on the harbour Italian Village but I see here that they are doing a cocktail style party for $250 per head which is very well priced. Or next door is Wolfies which is owned by the same group and they have a set menu available for the night. These are both looking straight at the Opera House and under the Harbour Bridge, an amazing location in The Rocks area. This one Crinitis is in Darling Harbour which is more family friendly and you will still see fireworks (with the right table) but it is not facing the Opera House. You could eat here and then have a walk around to the main harbour area for the midnight fireworks.
New Years Eve in our sparkling city is also an amazing time to get out there for some Sydney night photography which you can learn a little more about by following the link.
Following posts will focus on both high end Sydney dining options for new years eve and some suggested fireworks vantage points.
See you in Sydney soon.
